More than 90 business leaders from the region, including Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Indonesia met in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and exchanged business ideas, golf tips and more at the inaugural Crowne Plaza Invitational Asia Pacific from 6 - 8 July 2007. This invitational reinforces Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts' commitment towards ensuring that its guests have the right environment to stay on top of their game, whether for work or for play.

All participants were hosted by management of Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts across Asia Pacific. The weekend activities allowed all guests to take a breather from their busy schedule, learn from the best in the sport, meet fellow associates and form business relationships that will take them beyond the weekend.

Activities took place at Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur and Saujana Golf & Country Club where each guest had an in-depth analysis and discussion about their golfing techniques by David Leadbetter Golf Academy instructors flown in from China and Singapore specially for this event. The session was put to good use as attendees were later divided into two groups and enjoyed a 27-hole golf game over the weekend.

The Crowne Plaza Invitational Asia Pacific culminated with a Pro-Am tournament on Sunday. The winner of this tournament, Mr. K.S. Ho, received an all-expenses-paid trip to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete at the Crowne Plaza Amateur Invitational at Colonial Country Club, one of the PGA Tour's top golf courses. Mr Ho, who has a handicap of 6, is a private equity investor and resides in Kuala Lumpur.

"We combined the best of work and play to offer all our key business partners and corporate clients an enriching yet relaxing weekend where they were able to enhance their golf skills as well as business relationships. It is great to see so many of our partners from the region take time out to join us and we hope to continue the success of this event with our next stop in China," said Mr Jan Smits, Chief Operating Officer, Southern Asia & Korea, IHG Asia Pacific.

The Crowne Plaza Invitational Asia Pacific is a reinforcement of Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts' brand vision and recognition that business deals can be conducted anywhere, from the boardroom to the back nine. The Crowne Plaza Invitational Asia Pacific will next make its way to Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, China, from September 21 - 23.
